Saw this film a while back ago, but I forgot to write about it. At first I didn’t think this movie left much of an impression on me, but thinking back now it did leave a greater impression than I thought. Ed Helms’ Tim was the right amount of sweet and funny. He did a great job squeezing the humor out of his character’s innocence and naivety. John C. Reilly killed it as Dean(sy), being the perfect foil to Tim. The character reminded me of the other wild man characters Reilly has played before, yet it still seemed fresh. I think it’s because while the character had all of the Reilly hubris, he still had a really big heart, not taking long to completely love and trust Tim as a friend. So while I initially thought this film would have bigger laughs, I’d say it still did well being more subtle. My final thought on this movie is while you may not laugh too hard at this film, you will definitely be laughing.
